Even though hair loss is often natural, it can be a huge blow to one’s self-confidence and how one views their appearance. Whether you’re just starting your hair restoration journey or are looking for surgical hair restoration, hair restoration has many options.

Robotic hair restoration (ARTAS) is a revolutionary piece of technology to help bring hair back into your life.

Keep reading to learn more about the ARTAS iX and how it can bring joy back to how you feel about your hair.

Hair Loss

Hair loss is extremely common among Canadian men and women. In fact, 50% of men will suffer from male pattern baldness. As well, 40% of women will experience some signs of hair thinning. Hair loss can cause embarrassment and discomfort in your life. Luckily, there are ways to treat it!

To restore the beauty of your hair, there are multiple options, including surgical and non-surgical. However, surgical hair restoration is a proven method that is efficient and safe.

When undergoing surgical hair restoration, there are two main methods to bring new hair to your head through moving hair follicles.

Follicular Unit Extraction and Transplantation

While both of the treatment methods below, FUE – ARTAS and FUT-Strip surgery, aim to achieve the same thing (move healthy hair follicles to unhealthy areas), the methods differ in how they move hair follicles and how you recover.

Follicular Unit Extraction

Also known as FUE, Follicular Unit Extraction removes individual hair follicles from healthy areas and implants them in new areas, filling out your hair. Patients will experience gradual growth after the procedure, with having significant growth taking place after six months.

While this process used to be done by hand, requiring an extremely delicate touch, it is now done robotically. The ARTAS uses AI (Artificial Intelligence). Its advanced digital imaging and mapping technology ensures the procedure is done correctly in far less time than before.

Having FUE does not require any stitches or staples and has an extremely short recovery period.

Follicular Unit Transplantation

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is still done by hand. This process is completed by removing large volumes of hair follicles from a donor site using a scalpel. Once removed, these follicles are analyzed under a microscope and then implanted in affected areas.

FUT is recommended for people who are experiencing advanced hair loss. The procedure  consists of discreet shaving making it more of a suitable option for women looking for a transplant, though it does leave a faint linear scar afterward. As well, this procedure does require a week of healing after completion.

Why ARTAS?

If your hair is thinning or you are starting to notice bald spots, you have probably searched for natural causes and even solutions. These at-home solutions are safe, but not effective for everyone. The advanced technology supporting ARTAS makes it an excellent choice for patients looking to restore their hair surgically.

Selecting FUE and ARTAS allows for more options after the procedure. You will be left with no linear scars and can wear your hair in any style you please.

How Robotic Hair Restoration Works

Very similar to how FUE would be completed by hand, ARTAS seamlessly removes hair follicles from healthy areas and places them where you need them most. Every hair follicle that is removed is calculated by ARTAS, understanding variables of depth, the number of hairs, consistency of grafts and rates of extraction.

Once your healthy hair follicles have been successfully moved, your hair will begin to grow in a natural and healthy-looking manner.

FUE procedures are continuing to grow in popularity, now outnumbering FUT procedures 2:1. This recent growth has been caused by new technologies, such as ARTAS, allowing patients to receive a precise and calculated procedure.

ARTAS Expertise

At Sante HRI, we were one of the first clinics in the world to understand the benefits robotic hair restoration could have on our patients. Because of this, we adopted ARTAS to provide our patients with the best results possible and satisfy their desires.

With the overwhelming excellent feedback we received, we knew the true difference robotic hair restoration could make in our patient’s lives. As of today, no one in Canada has performed as many ARTAS procedures as Dr. Sreenivasan and Sante HRI
