Want a fresh clear complexion? Photo facial rejuvenation may be the answer you’re looking for.
Photo rejuvenation is a generic term used for treatments employing broad spectrum light-based technologies to treat skin conditions associated with ageing. It differs from laser therapy in that lasers use a specific wavelength of light that target a specific cosmetic condition.
Virtually any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of sunlight; in particular the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.
One of the many reasons Sante Medical is so effective in treating sun damage and related sun damage conditions is that we have the necessary range of light devices to combine the best spectrums of light wavelengths over the course of your treatments to ensure the best possible results in the shortest time:
The advantage of photo rejuvenation therapy relative to laser resurfacing is its minimal downtime – a patient can often have the procedure done in their lunch break and return to work immediately afterwards.
There are a number of different light-based technologies that can be employed to provide photo rejuvenation, so it’s important for patients to understand the benefits of each and which is best suited for their specific cosmetic condition.
ICON IPL utilizes intense pulsed light or IPL to deliver a bright blast of light at very high energy levels through a hand-held device targeting the lower layers of skin (dermis) without affecting the top layers of skin (epidermis). IPL systems work on the principle that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with colour (chromophores) in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the targeted cells while leaving the other offsetting cells unaffected.
IPL systems are different to lasers in that they deliver many wavelengths (or colours) in each pulse of light instead of just one particular wavelength, generally in the spectral range of 500 to 1,100 nm. Most IPL systems use filters to refine the energy output for the treatment of certain areas of coloured pigment, while enhancing penetration without having to use excessive energy levels.
Forever Young BBL utilizes broad band light or BBL. Similar to IPL in that the underlying principle of targeting cells with light is the same; BBL delivers light within a broader spectrum of wavelengths ranging between 500 nm to 2,000 nm. A recent study recently published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology shows that BBL treatments can change the expression of genes associated with the aging process to more closely resemble young skin
BLU-U Therapy is a treatment that emits a safe high intensity, narrow spectrum blue-violet light to effectively treat acne without adversely affecting surrounding skin.
At Sante Medical you can expect a thorough, honest evaluation of your best possible treatment options. Unlike clinics that only have one particular type of light-based therapy to deal with complexion issues; we have the necessary range of light devices to combine the best light spectrums over the course of your treatments to ensure the best possible solution for your cosmetic condition.
