While there is no such thing as a perfect nose, a successful rhinoplasty surgery can help improve the shape, sculpt a new profile by smoothing out a bump or curve or help with breathing or snoring.
More commonly known as a “Nose Job”, rhinoplasty is one of the most popular facial plastic surgery procedures performed. It can be used to correct bumps & indentations, straighten deviations and to decrease or increase the overall size of your nose, restoring balance to your face.
What Can This Surgery Change?
- Nose size, in relation to the other facial structures
- Nose width, at the bridge
- Nose profile, with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
- Nasal tip, that is large or bulbous, drooping, or too upturned
- Nostrils that are large, wide or upturned
- Nasal asymmetry and deviations
Who is a candidate for Rhinoplasty?
Nasal surgery is a highly individualized procedure and you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires, or to try to fit some sort of ideal image. Healthy individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations are appropriate candidates for this cosmetic procedure.
About the procedure
Rhinoplasty by Dr. Mechor is performed under a general anaesthetic in an operating room setting. During rhinoplasty surgery, a small incision is made under the tip of the nose and then incisions are made inside the nose to allow a surgeon to elevate the skin off of the cartilage and bone that makes up the nose. This allows Dr. Mechor to directly see the area that require correcting plus rebuild the nose to make it stronger as it heals. Sutures are used to close the incisions and a cast is placed on the outside of the nose. Plastic splints may be used inside the nose if the septum has been repaired.
