Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

Imagine looking in your mirror and seeing your face smile back at you – except it’s free of noticeable wrinkles and folds, and instead looks youthful and fresh. With dermal fillers, this doesn’t just have to be a figment of your imagination – it can be a reality. Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive injectable treatment that can add volume to correct age-related skin conditions and add definition and enhancement to your facial features. What Dermal Fillers Can Do For You

Facial Symmetry and Balance

Dermal fillers can be used to balance chin profile relative to nasal projection, and be used to provide facial balance and symmetry.

Cheeks, Temple and Chin Areas

Dermal filler injections can be used to volumize sunken cheeks, a sagging chin and hollowing of the temple area to take years off your appearance.

Jowls and Jawline

Facial volume loss, lax skin and the effects of gravity can cause our facial features to sag. Placing dermal fillers in the affected areas can serve to lift the skin and reduce the appearance of jowls.

Forehead Wrinkles

Horizontal creases on the forehead and vertical frown lines can be filled out by dermal fillers to achieve a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Smile Lines

Smile lines run vertically from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Dermal fillers can fill out the fold, making it less pronounced without sacrificing the beauty of your natural smile.

Facial wrinkles above and around the lips can begin to appear over time due to everyday lip muscle movement. However, environmental factors such as exposure to sunlight, smoking and stress can also contribute to the formation of vertical lip lines. Dermal fillers can be used to fill out the vertical lines that run upwards toward the nose (‘smoker’ or ‘lipstick’ lines) and achieve a more aesthetically pleasing lip contour.

Dermal fillers have been used to camouflage bumps or unevenness on the nose. They cannot make the nose smaller in size, but they can create more projection and hide bumps on the bridge of the nose.

Scars and Acne Scarring

If you suffer from acne scarring, dermal fillers may be of help as they can “fill in” depressions and smooth out the texture of your skin.

Upper and Lower Eye Area

Sunken eyes and dark circles under the eyes can make you look tired, even when you feel full of energy. Dermal filler can reduce the appearance of sunken eyes created by fat loss in the under eye area. Likewise, dermal fillers have been used on some patients to help lift your brows.

Marionette Lines and Downturned Expression

Marionette lines are the vertical facial creases that form below the corners of the mouth, extending downward towards the chin. Dermal filler can lift the skin to reduce the appearance of sagging and down turned expressions – making you look sad or angry.

How Dermal Fillers Work

The most popular class of dermal fillers are based on hyaluronic acid (HA); a sugar found naturally in human skin. HA works by binding about 1,000 times its weight in water. By binding water molecules, hyaluronic acid-based products add volume to the skin to smooth wrinkles and folds, plump lips, and remove scars. HA may also help to stimulate your own body’s production of collagen over time.

Wrinkle Reducer Injections vs. Fillers

Wrinkle reducer injections is a muscle relaxant that will help to smooth out dynamic lines associated with aging. Dermal fillers are used to create contours, and to fill in deep wrinkles and depressions that are static in nature. They are also used to enhance facial features.

Wrinkle reducer injections and dermal fillers are often used in combination, depending on the type of results that you want to achieve.
